Everything about PayTime payroll & salary software for Pakistan — pricing, FBR tax, payslips, EOBI, security and more.
Getting Started 10
What is PayTime?
PayTime is Pakistan’s cloud-based payroll and salary software. It automates salary processing, FBR income tax, payslips, EOBI and statutory deductions for businesses, accountants and advisors.
Who is PayTime for?
Startups, SMEs, clinics, schools, agencies and larger companies, as well as accountants and tax consultants who run payroll for multiple clients.
Do I need to install anything?
No. PayTime is fully cloud-based and runs in any modern browser on any device — there is nothing to download, install or maintain.
How long does setup take?
Most businesses are running the same afternoon. You import your existing salary sheet and PayTime maps the pay, tax and deduction details for you.
Can I import my existing salary data?
Yes. You can import an existing salary spreadsheet and PayTime will map employees, salaries and allowances so you don’t start from scratch.
Is there a free trial?
You can get started free with no card required, set up your company and explore the platform. You only pay for credits when you run your first live payroll.
Do I need an accountant to use PayTime?
No. PayTime is built so a business owner or HR person can run compliant payroll without a finance background — the tax and deductions are automated.
What information do I need to add an employee?
Just the basics: name, join date, gross salary and any fixed allowances or deductions. Tax is then calculated automatically each run.
Can I use PayTime for a single employee?
Yes. There is no minimum team size — PayTime works for one employee or thousands, and you only pay for the payrolls you actually run.
Which browsers are supported?
Any current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on desktop or mobile. PayTime also installs as an app on your phone’s home screen.
Pricing & Credits 10
How does PayTime pricing work?
PayTime uses simple credit-based pricing. One credit processes one employee’s payroll for one month, and the more credits you buy, the lower the price per credit.
What is a payroll credit?
A credit covers processing one employee’s payroll for one month — including salary calculation, FBR tax, deductions and the payslip.
How much does a credit cost?
Credits range from Rs 250 down to Rs 100 each depending on volume: Rs 250 (1–100), Rs 200 (101–1,000), Rs 150 (1,001–3,000) and Rs 100 (3,001+).
Is there a setup fee?
No. There are no setup fees and no long-term contracts — you start today and pay only for the credits you use.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire and can be used across months or years, whenever you run payroll.
Do I pay for employees I didn’t process?
No. You only spend a credit when you actually run an employee’s payroll for a month, so seasonal or variable headcount never overpays.
How do I buy credits?
You purchase credits from your account dashboard. Larger bundles automatically qualify for the lower per-credit rate.
Can I estimate my monthly cost?
Yes. The pricing page has a credit estimator — enter your number of employees and months and it shows the recommended bundle and total cost.
Are there discounts for large teams?
Yes. Pricing is volume-based, so the per-credit rate falls automatically as you buy more — down to Rs 100 per employee for 3,001+ credits.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is handled from your dashboard; for local businesses bank transfer and card options are supported. Contact us for invoicing or annual billing.
FBR Income Tax 10
Is PayTime FBR compliant?
Yes. PayTime calculates salary income tax using the current FBR salaried slabs and surcharge, and produces FBR IRIS-ready reports and statutory records.
How does PayTime calculate income tax?
It applies the latest FBR salaried tax slabs — fixed amount plus the rate on income above each slab’s lower bound — automatically on every payroll run.
Does PayTime update when FBR changes the slabs?
Yes. Tax years and slabs are maintained in PayTime, so when the Finance Act changes rates you get the correct figures without editing formulas.
Does PayTime handle the surcharge on high incomes?
Yes. Where annual taxable income crosses the surcharge threshold, the configured surcharge is applied on top of the calculated tax.
Can I see tax for previous tax years?
Yes. PayTime keeps multiple tax years, and the salary tax calculator lets you switch between fiscal years to compare figures.
Does PayTime produce FBR IRIS reports?
Yes. PayTime prepares FBR IRIS-ready filings and statutory forms and keeps accurate, audit-ready records for every period.
Can I generate tax deduction certificates?
Yes. Tax-deduction certificates for employees can be generated on demand and downloaded instantly.
How is monthly tax worked out from annual tax?
PayTime computes the annual tax from the slabs, then spreads it evenly across the 12 months so each payslip shows the correct monthly deduction.
Does the free salary tax calculator use the same rates?
Yes. The homepage salary tax calculator uses the exact same tax-year slabs and surcharge that drive your payroll, so results match.
Are tax credits and rebates supported?
PayTime applies the standard salaried tax treatment; specific admissible credits can be reflected in an employee’s setup where applicable.
Payroll Processing 10
How do I run payroll each month?
Open the pay run, confirm salaries and any variations, and process — PayTime calculates tax and deductions, generates payslips and updates records in one step.
Can I run payroll for part of the team?
Yes. You can process selected employees or departments in a run rather than the whole company at once.
Can I handle overtime and bonuses?
Yes. One-off items such as overtime, bonuses and commissions can be added to a run and are taxed correctly with the salary.
Can I add allowances and deductions?
Yes. Fixed allowances (like fuel or medical) and deductions (like loans or advances) are configured per employee and applied automatically.
Can I process a mid-month joiner or leaver?
Yes. PayTime pro-rates salary for joiners and leavers based on their dates so the pay and tax are correct for a partial month.
Can I reverse or correct a payroll run?
Yes. You can review a run before finalising, and corrections can be made and re-processed with an updated record.
Does PayTime create bank transfer files?
Yes. PayTime generates bank transfer files ready to upload to your bank for fast, error-free salary disbursement.
Can I run payroll on any date?
Yes. You choose your pay date each cycle; PayTime is not tied to a fixed calendar and supports monthly pay runs.
Is there an approval step before payroll is finalised?
Yes. A run can be reviewed and approved before it is finalised and locked, giving you a clean audit trail.
Can I handle salary revisions?
Yes. Update an employee’s salary and the change flows into the next payroll run and all downstream tax and deduction calculations.

Are statutory deductions applied consistently?
Yes. Once configured, EOBI, provident fund and other statutory items are applied to every run without manual re-entry.
Can I track loan and advance balances?

Does PayTime support multiple companies?
